Bird nesting houses mimic natural hollows and provide wildlife with a comfortable and safe place to rest in.

Kestrels, also known as chicken hawks are a small raptor that love to hunt rodents. Kestrels consume crop pests such as grasshoppers, rodents and European starlings. In cherry orchards, the scientists found, kestrels significantly reduced the number of birds that eat fruit. By adding kestrel houses to your property you can encourage these amazing a beautiful creatures to live on your property.

We hand make our Kestrel houses from redwood since that type of wood tends to hold up well without being painted. They have a removable door on the side so you can clean out the box in between nesting seasons, T-25 torx head screws. We make our boxes 11” wide since that gives more space for the birds than the more typical 8” width.

Attach nest boxes to buildings, posts or trees, 10' to 30' above the ground facing south or east and a half a mile away from other kestrel boxes. Clean after each nesting season.

Bonus: Sometimes smaller Owl types will use these houses in addition to Kestrels.
