California Buckeye trees grow in form as a large shrub. They are deciduous with bright green hand shaped leaves. White flower spikes emerge after the foliage in spring, and have been said to resemble candles. In the fall they produce "buckeyes"- a large, shiny, brown, round seed, which is NOT edible. Drought resistant once established, although appearance will be better with regular water, as the leaves can dry out in the summer heat. Good for dry hilly areas as they can help prevent erosion.

You will receive an actual tree in a cloth pot, similar in size to the one in the second picture (pictured dormant in winter). We grow our own plants and seeds at our family farm using organic practices only.
