Persimmon Rootstock - Diospyros lotus
The Lotus Persimmon also know by the name date plum, is an old cultivar, producing small unique fruit. In the US it is most commonly used as rootstock for other persimmon varieties, due to its hearty disease resistant properties.
A rootstock is the base of a grafted plant, providing the root system and stem to support the new plant. The different tree rootstocks control the tree’s size, vigor, precocity (how early the tree bears fruit), cold hardiness, and partly disease resistance.
You will receive an actual tree in a cloth pot. We grow our own plants and seeds at our family farm using organic practices only.
