Oilseed Radish Seed
One of the three plants we favor in our cover crop mixes, along with the Common Oat and Common Vetch, Oilseed Radish produces a large white tuber that is quite tasty. A bit less sharp than the typical round grocery store radish it is a wonderful addition to salads and snack plates.
One of the foundational practices of organic production is the use of cover crops. What is not so well known is that you can use cover crops to great effect in your home garden. This plant as a cover crop is known for helping with water penetration challenges, weed suppression and helps to make available various micro-nutrients to the crops that follow it.
Our favored cover crop in our vegetable areas is a mix of Common Oats, Common Vetch and Oilseed Radish. We offer this both as packets of individual seeds as these are useful plants on their own as well as pre-mixed for your convenience.
Sold per packet: 1 tablespoon Radish seed.
