1 tsp Green Globe Artichoke
This heirloom variety of artichoke is a perennial in warm climates a biennial in cold climates. 120 days to maturity. Here in zone 9a California we start them in the fall (October or November) with first production the following summer. Grows to a height of 3-5 feet with large silvery leaves. In warm climates it should produce 3-5 buds the first year that can be harvested while green for eating, if not harvested they will bloom into a purple flower, similar to a thistle flower. The flowers are excellent for dried arrangements.
We grow our own plants and seeds at our family farm using organic practices only.
